SGI and University Budget Committees
SGI Budget Committee
This committee handles all special allocation requests from student government recognized organizations that do not fall under Inter-Greek Council. SGI Budget Committee is reserved to organizations with budgets less than $2,000. The SGI Budget committee is comprised of students from varying student organizations, SGI floor members, and other student members. It is chaired by the SGI Budget Committee Chairs. These requests, when reported to the floor, are open for further questioning. The organizations will have a representative present to answer any further questions that cannot be answered by the Chairs. Each request is looked at separately, and the final decision is made by the SGI Board of Directors.

Application Due Date: Each request must be in 30 days before the date of your event. You must have your request in 7 days before the a budget meeting. If your request is not in before 7 days, you will have to wait until the next meeting two weeks later.

Eligibility: This committee handles all special allocation requests from student organizations that do not fall under Inter-Greek Council. The organization must be an SGI recognized student organization with a budget less than $2,000.
Inter-Greek Council:
This council is compromised of representations from Fraternities and Sororities, Student Government, Inc. floor members, and one member from administration. It handles all special allocation requests from any organization that falls under the category of Fraternity and Sorority Life. These requests, when reported to the floor, are open to further questioning before the report is approved.
Please review the IGC guidelines for additional information that may be important to your application.
Application: A “Special Allocation Form” or “Convention Request Form” must be filled out and submitted with all required documents four weeks prior to the event/convention (no exceptions). Forms are to be submitted to Barbara Duffy in DAC 121.
Application Due Date: It is mandatory that the request be submitted at least four weeks before the Special Allocation is needed as indicated by the date of the event. If the event is taking place during the time of a school break, the requisition must be fully prepared and submitted prior to the break.

Eligibility: Fraternities and Sororities in good-standing are eligible to request funding provided their budget has not been frozen by SGI.

Campus Activities Board:
CAB is a programming board that provides funding for events and activities that are campus wide and collaborative with departments on campus. CAB includes a mix of students, staff, and faculty; it is chaired by Jack Flynn the Director of Student Conduct. The organizations funding request must benefit students at large and be open and accessible to all students in some manner.

Eligibility: CAB provides funding for collaborative campus-wide events. Programming entities who request CAB funding (student organizations, University departments, University committees, etc.) must target the undergraduate student population and respect the University’s mission.
Professional Development Committee:
Student Government recognized organizations, that do not do not fall under Inter-Greek Council, are eligible to request funds from the Professional Development Committee for the purpose of attending a conference or convention relating to their organization and mission. Convention requests provide an opportunity for a maximum of 4 members by using both SGI & Student Affairs funding.
There is now an application available to individuals to apply for funding for the purpose of attending a conference or convention.
